X-Ray at Langley Memorial Hospital

Over 4,000 X-Ray procedures are performed at Langley Memorial Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department every month.

Thanks to support from donors like you, we raised $1.1 million to replace both X-ray machines at Langley Memorial Hospital!

Every month, Langley Memorial Hospital’s technologists see thousands of people who urgently need an X-ray: an image of an area of their body that’s been causing pain, hindering their health or mobility.

They may see toddlers who have ingested a small object, or respiratory patients who need images of their lungs and chest. Or they may see those living with cancer who need regular X-ray scans to explore the progress of their treatment.

Langley Memorial’s Medical Imaging Department has two X-ray machines in continual use. The newest machine is 15 years old - well past its average 10-year lifespan.

With this old equipment, at any time during the day, patients might have to wait for up to two hours for an X-ray.

If you’re a parent, imagine your child is hurt after a playground accident. Or what if a senior in your life is sent to Langley Memorial after a fall, only to wait two hours for an X-ray procedure? Our patients deserve to be treated with the best technology immediately.
